Meet Our Genetic Counseling Team

Founded in 2020, our team comprises co-founders Barbara Harrison and Grace-Ann Fasaye, social media consultant, Erica Price, and outreach consultant, Tatiana Garrison. Each of us brings different perspectives, experiences, and expertise to the program as seasoned and new genetics professionals. We look forward to tapping into your curiosity about genetic counseling and helping you explore opportunities within our program.

Leadership Team

Barbara Harrison, MS, CGC

Barbara Harrison, MS, CGC

Barbara is an Assistant Professor at Howard University and provides genetic counseling services at Howard University Hospital. She also serves as the Assistant Director of Community Outreach for the HU Center for Sickle Cell Disease. Since becoming a genetic counselor, Barbara has committed herself to efforts focused on increasing the diversity of GCs, with the understanding that excellence within the GC field can only be accomplished through including a variety of perspectives and understanding the importance of a diverse workforce in effectively addressing the needs of underserved populations.

Grace-Ann Fasaye, ScM, CGC

Grace-Ann is a research genetic counselor at the National Cancer Institute. She provides genetics education and support to patients with cancer and their treatment teams. Grace-Ann is dedicated to moving forward GOLDEN and other innovative initiatives that seek to increase the diversity of the genetic counseling workforce.

Erica Price, MS, LCGC

Erica Price, MS, LCGC

Erica works as a social media consultant for GOLDEN. She has been with the team since 2020. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Maryland, Eastern Shore (Hawk Pride!) in 2017. She earned her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from Arcadia University in 2019. Erica currently works as a licensed certified fertility genetic counselor with GeneScreen, LLC. She is passionate about diversity recruitment and hopes that the work done through GOLDEN will change the Genetics community for years to come.

Tatiana Garrison Johnson, MMSc, CGC

Tatiana Garrison Johnson, MMSc, CGC is a licensed certified cancer genetic counselor at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University Hospital Midtown in Atlanta. She serves as the HBCU outreach specialist for GOLDEN. Her goal is to spread genetic counseling awareness amongst pre-med and allied health students who attend HBCUs to learn about the career field. It was her personal experience with her mother’s breast cancer diagnosis that sparked her curiosity in genetics, which led her to this field. Tatiana is passionate about serving underrepresented communities and has done so through mentoring, tutoring and various volunteering. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Howard University in 2019. She went on to receive her Master of Medical Science in Human Genetics and Genetic Counseling from the Genetic Counseling Training Program at Emory University School of Medicine in 2021.
